We visited Kyaukme in northern part of Shan State and from there we climbed steep mountains to get to Nanpaung, a Palaung village. There we documented tea plantations along steep hill sides and we studied Laphetso making. In Kyaukme we got an experience of drinking tea that avoids rain. We visited a local factory in Mandalay and studied fried garlic making, which is an essential ingredient for dishing up of Laphetso. We investigated the actual conditions of distribution of Laphetso at different places in Mandalay and Yangon, starting from wholesale stores and retail shops up to Laphetso cafes.
