"介護福祉士は「利用者の望む生活をどのように支援するか」を，客観的で科学的な根拠に基づき実践することが求められている．そのために，介護福祉士養成課程には「介護過程」を学ぶ授業に力点が注がれている．この介護過程とは利用者の思いをくみ取る思考過程のことであり，授業では事例を通じて学び，介護実習では実際に担当する利用者に対し，今まで学んだ専門的な視点からアセスメントを行い計画立てて実践し，評価をしながら展開することになる．学生たちは，このアセスメントの段階で多くの項目を聞き取る必要があり，それらから課題の抽出を上手く行えないケースが目立っていた．この思考過程をなんとかスムーズに学ばせることができないか，介護福祉士養成施設の多くの教員が指導方法に苦慮している現状である．そこでわれわれは，アセスメントシートに焦点を当て，試行錯誤をしながらシートを作成し，実際に事例を通じた学習に取り入れ，施設介護実習時には使用できるよう指導してみた．すると，以前に比べ学生達は自らの力で，対象者の生活課題を明らかにすることが出来ていた．",
